ABOUT ‘IN EXPECTATION’

In Expectation was conceived and birthed out of the struggle and triumph of its founder, Mrs. Victoria Osei-Bonsu (aka Victorious Victoria).

In Expectation is a direct beneficiary of Victoria’s first-hand experience journeying through marriage for 11years without getting pregnant at all.  In Expectation therefore exists to walk other families through the ups and downs of their own similar journeys.

In Expectation is unapologetically Christian but warmly welcomes all families from all backgrounds who would like to benefit from its services. Aside providing companionship and one-to-one support, we work with various experts connected with the field of fertility and childbirth – Obstetrician/Gynecologists’, Dietitian, Psychological Therapist etc.

Whilst our families await manifestation of their own children, we encourage participation in ‘In Expectation’s outreach programs to our adopted orphanages. We also reach out to post-partum mothers in various hospitals who are unable to pay their bills, to financially support them. We are also hoping to reach out to patients and parents at the Princess Marie Louis Hospital in Accra.

We aim to wipe the tears from the eyes of the broken-hearted, provide a shoulder for someone to cry on and ultimately bring joy and laughter into homes for as long as it takes for the ultimate desire of holding one’s own bundle of joy – whether biological or adopted.

ABOUT

VICTORIOUS VICTORIA
5/5

My whole life in itself is a miracle, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my life’s journey with as many people as possible.
I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) at about the age of 15, which I grappled with for years. I got married in 2003 and went through a very desert-like experience with childlessness. I never got pregnant for the first 11years of our marriage despite the various interventions with medications and surgeries.
While on a holiday in Accra to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday in 2014, I took the opportunity to seek help from various fertility clinics in Accra. All the hospitals confirmed that the only way I would ever be able to conceive was via IVF.

In Expectation walks the journey with families awaiting the fruit of the womb.

The last hospital’s prognosis was in my view, nothing other than a death sentence: they said that though I might in fact be able to conceive via IVF, even with that, I will need donor eggs. I returned to the UK for a second opinion from a private hospital since the National Health Service (NHS) were unwilling to further my case until I had lost a certain amount of weight. The paradox here, was this was practically an impossible task considering a significant symptom of PCOS is weight gain.

It was whilst the investigations had began at the private hospital that God visited us. I conceived naturally with my own eggs!!! Halleluja

During that period, I felt the urge in my spirit to be blessing to others walking the journey I had walked; to encourage them that there is NOTHING impossible with God.

For someone who had never gotten pregnant prior to now, suddenly I seemed to have become ‘buddies’ with pregnancy. I got pregnant again, in fact, twice in quick succession after our first son was born. Unfortunately, both pregnancies ended in heartbreaking miscarriages and then got blessed with our beautiful rainbow baby girl.

I reside in the UK with my husband and our two miracle children. We are also blessed with two adopted daughters as well as two foster children all resident in Accra, Ghana.
